Welcome toSpringhead Primary School

Springhead Sport

We are so happy to announce that our Year 6 football team has progressed to the East Midlands Final which will be played in the new year. The boys' journey so far has been amazing. They started in the qualifying stage back in September. Then, they won the East Riding Final which was held on 3rd November at South Hunsley School. The next stage was the Humberside Final on 24 November at South Hunsley where the boys won all but one of their games to secure them a place in the next round. A massive well done to Kayden, Sam, Louie, Bailey, Josh, Harry, Jack, Alex and Zach.

Tuesday 12th October saw some of our children compete against other local schools in a cross country tournament. We entered 4 teams. A year 5/6 girls team, a year 5/6 boys team, a year 3/4 girls team and a year 3/4 boys team. Well done to all the children for finishing. A special mention goes to 3 of our superstars, Jasmine, Elsie and Oli, for finishing in high places and securing a place in the final at Cottingham High School.

On Monday 11th October, our girls' football teams competed in a 7 a side tournament at Wolfreton School. Both teams played really well and enjoyed themselves immensely. This was their first time playing together and for most of the girls, the first time they had ever played a game of football. Well done girls! You were all amazing.

On Thursday 30th October our Year 5 and Year 6 boys' football teams competed in a 7 a side tournament at Wolfreton School. The boys played really well for their first time together as a team. The Year 6's went through to the final which is to be played on Wednesday 3rd November at South Hunsley School. Well done boys!

Race for Life. Thank you for all of your kind donations. We raised a staggering £5000.

Dodgeball Final - Well done to our fabulous team for reaching the finals

Children from years 3,4,5 and 6 took part in the very first Springhead cross country competition.  Children in every class competed to win a trophy.  The competition took place on a cold and wet Monday night, so well done to all the children who braved the elements and took part.

Winners of each race were

  • Harvey - Year 6
  • James - Year 5
  • Sam - Year 4
  • Henry - Year 3

On Tuesday children took part in the cross county competition at Wolfreton against children from other schools in the cluster.  Harvey managed an impressive first place in the boys' race and Tilly was pipped at the post into second place for the girls' race.
