A team of local school teachers turned artists have set up this company to provide education of the arts to all in the surrounding area. Thread and Press lead many community arts projects for both children and adults. They run regular art clubs both online and in person and also hold holiday sessions too.

The Deep, a local aquarium hold many competitions throughout the year. Currently they are holding an amateur photography competition suitable for all ages. The photographs must be taken of the residents of The Deep and winning entries will form a professional calendar for 2023. This is a great opportunity for any budding photographers!

Our local ScrapStore has an abundance of new and recycled low cost creative resources. Take a visit to their shop to see what is currently available to purchase - it may inspire you to get creative at home! During the school holidays, members of the ScrapStore team can often be found delivering free workshops at local events including the Hull City Council Play Days events in the town centre.

A specially designed SEND provision group has been set up by professionals within the Hull area to ensure that activities are offered throughout the holidays that are accessible and inclusive for children and young people with SEND, their parents and carers. A variety of activities have been and continue to be on offer throughout the city including youth clubs, creative craft workshops, sports and music experiences.

Living close to the city centre, we are lucky to benefit from Ferens, a world class art gallery. Ferens has a magnificent collection of paintings and sculptures... and very soon may even display works of art from some Springhead artists as we have recently entered Ferens Junior Open Exhibition - an art competition for local children. Entry to the gallery is free for all.

The Oak National Academy was originally set up during the National Lockdown in Spring/Summer 2020 as a source of online home learning for children of primary age. Since schools have reopened, the website has remained active and continues to provide a range of excellent art opportunities following structured lessons and video guidance planned and delivered by qualified teachers. This is a great link for home learning and general keeping busy whilst at home.
